About Troy Heflin

“My vision is to create a better world through authentic leadership.”

Troy has spent the last 25 years walking alongside leaders, helping them find clarity in complexity, direction in uncertainty, and purpose in their work. His path has taken him across the globe—from union shop floors to corporate boardrooms, from high-growth startups to established multinational companies—all with one mission: help people increase their effectiveness for greater impact, scale, and fulfillment.

Troy’s journey began in the field of Human Resources, where he held senior leadership roles in both the U.S. and internationally. Most recently, he served as an executive at the Volvo Group, where he advised senior leaders on navigating change, leading teams, and strengthening culture. Prior to this, he was Chief Human Resources Officer for Volvo Financial Services, supporting over 1,700 employees across 52 countries. Under his leadership, the organization received multiple awards for its workplace culture, including recognition as the Volvo Group’s most diverse and inclusive business, and a Top 100 Global Workplace designation from the Great Place to Work Institute.

But beyond titles and accolades, Troy is most often described as a trusted confidant—a steady presence who helps leaders reconnect with what matters, see themselves more clearly, and take bold, meaningful steps forward. His clients often come to him during times of high stress or transition, when their usual tools are no longer working, and they’re ready to explore a different way of leading and living.

What sets Troy apart, however, is his ability to blend real-world executive experience with science-backed coaching approaches. He spent over a decade integrating neuroscience into his personal life and work, translating research into practical tools that help leaders grow from the inside out. His coaching is grounded in the principles of conscious leadership, emotional intelligence, and adult development theory—offering a holistic, grounded approach that works at the individual, team, and organizational level.

Troy holds a B.S. from Purdue University and a Master’s in Organization Development from Pepperdine University, where his thesis explored generational shifts and needs in the workplace. He has completed PhD-level coursework in human development and evidence-based coaching at Fielding Graduate University, and he holds his Professional Coaching Certification through the International Coaching Federation (PCC). Troy also earned executive education credentials from the MIT Sloan School of Management and advanced neuroscience training through the Academy of Brain-Based Leadership.

He is certified in a wide range of assessment tools—including The Leadership Circle Profile 360™, Neuroscience Leadership Assessment™, MBTI™, DiSC™, Decision Styles™, and FIRO-B™—but more importantly, he knows when and how to use them in ways that are personal and transformational.

Troy is a partner with the Conscious Leadership Institute, and serves on the advisory boards of the Academy of Brain-Based Leadership and Harvard Business Review.

In his own life, Troy tries to model the same values he helps others cultivate—presence, courage, and connection. He’s passionate about helping people slow down, reflect more deeply, and lead consciously in a world that rarely makes space for it.
